2026.03-22 5th Sunday of Lent

Przesłane : Mar-19-2026

Dear Parishioners,

On Wenesday, March 25, we will celebrate the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, one of the most beautiful feasts in the Christian calendar. This feast commemorates the moment when the angel Gabriel announced to Virgin Mary that she would conceive and bear Jesus Christ. Mary’s humble response to the angel’s message, “Let it be done to me according to your word,” opened the door for the coming of God’s Son as a human being. Unlike many figures in history who hesitated before God’s call, Mary responded with complete trust in God. As a result, Mary continues to be our companion and intercessor on our journey through life, especially during this Lenten season. Just as Christ invited the Beloved Disciple to welcome His Mother as his own, we are all called by Christ to welcome His Mother as our mother and to make space for her in our hearts, homes, and communities.

On March 22, 2023, Pope Emeritus Francis requested that all priests and laypeople make and renew their total consecration to Mary, our mother, annually. In light of this, our Archbishop, His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo, is once again inviting all priests and faithful of the diocese to consecrate themselves to the Blessed Virgin Mary on March 25, 2026. The Annunciation is especially meaningful for Marian consecration because it celebrates Mary’s surrender to God's will. When we consecrate ourselves on this day, we imitate her attitude of trust and obedience to God.

At St. Rose of Lima Parish, we will perform the act of Consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary during our 7:30 am and 7:00 pm Masses on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. If you are unable to join us for one of these Masses, I encourage you to consecrate yourselves at home using the Prayer of Consecration you find in this bulletin.

May our Blessed Mother continue to intercede for us.
