Red Wednesday

2025.11.16 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Przesłane : Nov-13-2025

Dear Parishioners,

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, people around the world will mark Red Wednesday, an initiative of Aid to the Church in Need (ACN). This global day highlights the persecution and injustice faced by Christians worldwide. When it comes to religious freedom, we live in a safe and secure country. Therefore, it is easy to be oblivious to the extent of the violence and persecution taking place in countries where Christians are minorities. The commemoration of Red Wednesday is a powerful reminder for us to stand up for our faith and to pray for religious freedom everywhere. This year’s national theme, “You are the voice of persecuted Christians," calls each Christian to stand up for those who no longer have the freedom to express themselves, to pray, and to live their Christian faith without the risk of reprisals. In our Parish Masses, we will pray for the persecuted Christians and for religious tolerance among religions. There will also be a special Mass at St. Michael’s Cathedral to commemorate the day.
