Dear Parishioners,

I would like to highlight a couple of points this weekend: The First, as I announced in the masses last weekend, October is the month of the Holy Rosary—a time to draw closer to Christ through the intercession of Mary, our Blessed Mother. Here at St. Rose, Rosary is prayed before every mass, both during the weekdays and in the weekends. Please join us. I also encourage you to pray the Rosary in your homes. The Pope has invited all Catholics to pray the Rosary for peace. In a recent audience, the Pope said, “I invite everyone, each day of the month of October, to pray the Rosary for peace—personally, in the family, and in community.”  May our Blessed Mother intercede for us and for our world.

The Second, Our Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) has just begun for another year. We are blessed with a wonderful team of Parish volunteers who will once again prepare those who wish to be part of the Catholic faith. Nine adults have already registered for the program. As Catholics, we might encounter persons – family members, friends, colleagues – who express interest in becoming members of the Catholic Christian community. We may also know of persons who were baptized in the Catholic Church, but never had the opportunity to receive the Eucharist or Confirmation, and who now desire to learn more about their Catholic faith and receive the Sacraments of Initiation. If you know anyone who might be interested in exploring the Catholic faith or want to receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation), please invite them to contact our Parish office. You can find more information in our Parish website.
