2026.01.04 The Epiphany of The Lord
Dear Parishioners,
As we begin another year, I wish all our parishioners a very Happy and peace-filled New Year 2026. As we thank the Lord for this joyful season and for the New Year, I want to express my sincere thanks to so many in the Parish who make our community vibrant and lively. But before that, I once again thank Fr. Sojan and wish him well. And, on behalf of our Parish community, I welcome Fr. Martin Soosai, C.S.C., to be part of our Parish Pastoral team.
- Fr. Sojan, Fr. Martin and I are very grateful to many in the parish who expressed Christmas greetings and spoiled us with gifts of ALL kinds. As always, the parish's support makes our pastoral work that much more meaningful and joyful. We pledge to do our best to serve the parish in this Jubilee Year.
- We are thankful for the significant number of people who participated in our Christmas liturgies. So many Catholic Christians here in Scarborough and beyond, coming to 3216 Lawrence Avenue East, to recognize the power and the awe of our God who became human, is a strong sign that “faith” really does mean something and that our “faith” does sustain us in good times and in more difficult times.
- We have greatly appreciated the beautiful decorations in the body and the Sanctuary of the church; the care, time, and skill in creating such Christmas beauty have greatly added to our Christmas celebrations. Thanks much to the team of decorators.
- And a huge thanks to our music ministers. Christmas, liturgical worship, and music are absolutely connected! We are most fortunate here at St. Rose to have such dedicated and talented musicians and choir members.
- We sincerely appreciate all those who helped during the Christmas season: our Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, Altar Servers, Sacristans, Gift Shop Maintainers, Office Staff, Volunteers of our Outreach ministries, and many others.
- As we complete another calendar year, we are most grateful to the parish community for its ongoing financial support. The generosity of our members allows us to maintain the building's infrastructure, offices, and rectory, and to sustain the parish's pastoral work, including our outreach ministries. Since we are talking about finances, we also want to thank the members of our Parish Finance Council and the Money Counters for their dedicated service.
Fr. Vijai, C.S.C. ~ Pastor
