Dear Parishioners,
This Sunday, we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family. The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph is a model for our own families in the Parish and beyond. Today, as we give thanks for the gift of the Holy Family, we also give thanks for all the gifts and blessings our Parish family has received through the presence of Fr. Sojan, C.S.C. As I announced in all our Masses last weekend, after completing three and a half years in Canada, Fr. Sojan will be returning to his Province in India. Fr. Sojan has spent the last year and a half here at St. Rose of Lima Parish as the Associate Pastor.
It was a blessing to have Fr. Sojan with us here at the Parish. Personally, he has been a great companion and confrere to me, always offering valuable suggestions, steady support and being available to help and serve. He has served our Parish family with his steady presence, inspiring homilies and reflections and the reverent celebration of the Sacraments.
On behalf of our Parish community, I sincerely thank Fr. Sojan for all the gifts and blessings he has brought to our community. Fr. Sojan will be taking his new assignment as Pastor of a Parish in his Holy Cross Province in North-East India. We wish Fr. Sojan well in his new ministry. I invite you all to come down to the Parish Hall after the 12.30 pm Mass this Sunday and to thank Fr. Sojan and wish him well personally. Farewell, dear Fr. Sojan.
On another note, as we prepare to welcome the New Year 2026, I wish you and your loved ones a very Happy New Year this week. May your hearts and homes be filled with God’s peace, and may our Blessed Mother, Mother of the Church, intercede for us all.
Fr. Vijai, C.S.C. ~ Pastor
