2025.11.30 1st Sunday of Advent

Publié : Nov-27-2025

Dear Parishioners,

Today, we begin the blessed Season of Advent and with it, the new Church year. A beautiful prayer of the Church captures the spirit of Advent: Lord, our God, help us to prepare for the coming of Christ, Your Son. May He find us waiting, eager in prayer. Advent is a time of preparation, a time of waiting, and a time of joyful hope. It celebrates past, present, and future: Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem in the past, His ongoing, daily coming into our hearts through grace, and His glorious return at the end of time. Advent is especially meaningful for our RCIA candidates, who have completed the first stage of the RCIA program, the Period of Enquiry and Evangelization. At our 10:45 am Mass next Sunday, they will participate in the Rite of Acceptance and begin the second stage, the Period of Catechumenate. Let us pray for them. It is my hope and prayer for all of us that we can carve out some time each day during this season to pray, meditate, and prepare a place for our Lord Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.
