2025.11.09 Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica

Dear Parishioners,

As a Catholic community, we continue our journey through the Jubilee Year on the theme of “Pilgrims of Hope.” The jubilee theme invites us and encourages us to renew our faith through sacraments and acts of mercy and to be a tangible sign of hope for others. It also invites us to a spiritual renewal, one that finds hope in faith and community. The Eucharist is a central part of this renewal, reinforcing community.

Last Sunday, the Feast of All Souls or The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, was a profound time for us, as a community of faith, as a faith community of St. Rose of Lima, to pray, in all our Masses, for our departed loved ones and to renew our faith and hope in the resurrection. The so many candles that were lit before our sacred altar, the many prayers and petitions that were offered and the inscribing of the names of our deceased family members and friends in the Parish Book of Remembrance, were some of the outward expressions of our love for our deceased family members and our appreciation for the impact that their lives had on our own lives.  However, our community’s prayer for our departed ones does not end with All Souls Day; instead, it continues for the whole month of November and beyond. So, let us continue to lift all our departed brothers and sisters in our community’s prayers and in our personal prayers.

Fr. Vijai, C.S.C. ~ Pastor
