Dear Parishioners,
In a couple of days, another Lenten Season will be upon us. The Church invites every Christian to enter seriously and sincerely into the spirit of this grace-filled penitential season. Lent provides a unique opportunity to evaluate our Christian lives, to be reconciled with God and the community, and to renew our commitment to our baptismal vocation. To this end, Lent is a time of penance, almsgiving, and, above all, prayer and reflection.
Here at St. Rose of Lima Parish, we have a number of activities to help us renew our faith in God and our commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave his life to give us life. We have the Stations of the Cross on Fridays during Lent following our 7.30 am and 7.00 pm Lenten Masses. We hope to have three evenings of Lenten Reflection during the 2nd week of March. We will have a Life in Christ Seminar on Saturday, March 07, organized by Live Christ and Share Christ group. In addition to confessions before weekday Masses, we will hold an evening of confessions later in March, during which several priests will be available for confessions after a communal preparation. We will have our Lenten Soup nights on Saturday evenings after our 5.00 pm. Mass.
I appeal to you and encourage you to set aside some time every day during Lent for personal prayer and reflection, and to participate in the Parish's spiritual activities, so that we can celebrate the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus with renewed spirit and faith.
May our gracious God bless our Lenten journey!
