Mother Day-4th Sunday of Easter

2025.05.11 4th Sunday of Easter (Mother's Day)

Posted : May-07-2025

Dear Parishioners,

This weekend we celebrate Mother’s Day. It is a time to reflect on the gift of life and love of all mothers. We come to know the love and goodness of God first and foremost through the love of our mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers and godmothers. Each Mother’s Day I am reminded of this quote: “A mother is she who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take.” On this Mother’s Day, we pray for all mothers and may Mary, the mother of all mothers, intercede for them. Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers!

The month of May is traditionally dedicated to the Mother of all mothers, Blessed Virgin Mary. It is a month when families and communities are encouraged to seek Mary’s special intercession by praying the Rosary. I encourage you, as individuals and as families, to seek the intercession of our Blessed Mother for our families, communities, Church and the world at large. If you are not already praying the Rosary, it’s never too late. As we are aware, there are many parts of the world that are suffering because of war, violence and conflicts these days. Let us lift them up to the Lord through our Blessed Mother and pray for peace.

In relation with Mother’s Day and honoring of the Blessed Virgin Mary, on Saturday, May 31 of 2025, the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a new archdiocesan event called “A Day With Mary” will be taking place at Villanova College located at 2480 15th Sideroad in King City. The faithful will gather together from all corners of the archdiocese to participate in Mass, pray the Rosary, grow deeper in our devotion to Our Lady. Please consider joining His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo and so many others who love the Blessed Mother. You will find more information in this bulletin about how to register for this free event.
