Dear Parishioners,
We are already in the Fifth Sunday of Lent and next Sunday we will begin the Holy Week with Palm Sunday. It’s hard for me to believe how quickly our Lenten journey is moving forward. I really hope that your Lenten journey has been fruitful, to examine and to grow in your relationship with God and with those around you. Of course, the Church calls us to prepare ourselves through the three disciplines of Lent—Prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Another great way for us as Catholics, to prepare ourselves for the worthy celebration of Easter is through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Here at St. Rose of Lima, we have confessions half an hour before every weekday Masses and a number of neighboring Parishes offer the Sacrament at different times. Please use these opportunities.
These coming days are important for our RCIA candidates. They have been preparing themselves through weekly classes since September. They have participated in the various rites. They will participate in their last and final Scrutiny this Sunday. In a world that is becoming more and more secular, it will be a blessing for us to welcome them, at the Easter Vigil, to be part of our Catholic Church through their Baptism or Profession of Faith. Let us continue to pray for them that they will have faith, and faith will have them, lifelong.
In the bulletin, we have included the Holy Week and Easter Schedule for our Parish community. Please join us and invite your families to join us for these holy celebrations. As well, please note the schedule for the Parish office and our Adoration Chapel.
I pray that the remaining days of Lent gives us the opportunity to reflect on the love of God for us that was so powerfully manifested through the Passion, Death and the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
