2024.12.08 2nd Sunday of Advent

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

I am certain that you are aware of the October 6 announcement by Pope Francis, elevating Archbishop Francis Leo, the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Toronto, to the College of Cardinals. This is an historic moment for our archdiocese and we offer our prayers and best wishes for Archbishop Leo and the newest cardinals from around the world. An official delegation from the archdiocese has accompanied Archbishop Leo for the Consistory events, taking place in Rome on December 7 and 8, 2024. The clergy, consecrated and lay faithful of the archdiocese will have the opportunity to extend well wishes and join in prayer with Archbishop Leo in a more formal way at the local, archdiocesan level early in 2025. The archdiocese is in the process of finalizing these details and more information will be shared once confirmed. At this time, I invite you all to pray for Archbishop Leo, the newest members of the College of Cardinals as well as its current membership. May our Blessed Mother intercede for all the leaders of the Church, so that they may be faithful in their role as shepherds of God’s people.
